Trend: Gatsby and Art Deco Inspired Style

Who's excited for The Great Gatsby this weekend?? This girl sure is! I love the book and have been playing the soundtrack on repeat all week. Can't wait to actually see the movie tonight! I have always loved 1920's/Art Deco style. The sequins, pearls, feathers...it's so over the top you can't not love it! . Gatsby and Art Deco style has been everywhere lately. Carey Mulligan is on the cover of Vogue this month with a stunning Gatsby spread. Designers, celebrities, bloggers, practically everyone is talking about or rocking Gatsby style. Love it! Here are my top Gatsby/Art Deco inspired pieces from all around the web.

Speakeasies, flappers, gangsters...the 20's were an amazingly fun decade. Behind the glamor and fun, flappers were actually making a feminist statement. If you're curious and want to get your nerd on this is a great post: Gatsby Still Gets Flappers Wrong from Collectors Weekly. The film may not portray flappers 'right' but it sure looks to be a stunner. Dinner and Gatsby tonight...bliss!
