Outfit: olive green + lace

Hello friends! I am indeed alive. I am feeling much better now and getting back to the old me. Thanks for all the well wishes. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Sometimes I will admit to having the bad habit of proclaiming, "I have nothing to wear!" when really what I mean is, "I have nothing new to wear and therefore don't feel inspired." And while all of my cute blogger and Instagram friends are dipping into their fall wardrobes, I'm over here in a semi-desert-y part of California where it was in the triple digits this weekend. Fall is so far away I can barely stand to Pin a sweater look. Therefore no fall shopping has occurred. All that is to say, everything I'm wearing here with the exception of the fan-fringe necklace and my newly beloved fall must-have leopard pumps is at least a year old. In the case of this green military-esque jacket, it's several years old. *Pats self on back for shopping own closet instead of going shopping.*

  1. I absolutely love this outfit! The olive with the lace and leopard pumps is such a wonderful prefall and fall combination too!
I am so sorry that it is still too hot to go fall shopping, but you are keeping your wallet safe by waiting! We're supposed to have 90 degree weather all week long, so I my fall clothes are anxiously waiting in my closet :D.

  8. I feel your pain about fall being so far away. Living in Arizona, fall will not be here for a few more months. :( I can hear my boots calling my name...

  11. I sooo agree! I feel like I don't have enough to wear and yet there are like plenty of items on my closet that hasn't been touched for months!! A little creativity can indeed go a long way. Loving your olive jacket :)

  12. I love this outfit! You have nailed a perfect blend of hard and soft with the military jacket and lace :) Also, your post makes me happy because I am so tired of seeing pins of winter weather looks. It was 95 today. Fall is not around the corner, at least not according to the ten day forecast.

  16. I know how you feel! It is in the 90s here and I absolutely cannot even think about wearing fall clothes yet. (I also proclaim I have nothing to wear, when I mean I have nothing new to wear). Love that military jacket. And it looks fabulous with the lace top. Awesome look, and awesome shopping your closet! (I feel I deserve an award when I do that!)

  19. Glad you're feeling better. I know exactly what you mean. I look at my closet every day and think I have nothing to wear. Your outfit is fab I'm in love with that necklace and shoes. The jacket is so cute too...just wish I could wear one here.

  20. Did you say the weather was in triple digits, but you are wearing pants, closed shoes, and a jacket?? It's been dropping into the 60's here and I'm reluctant to even consider wearing pants!

I know the nothing to wear feeling all too well though... I know there is plenty to wear, so why does nothing seem appealing?

  21. Uh, I really love that jacket on you, and I have seen this look on many other bloggers, but seriously I haven't really loved it until now. I am not just pulling your leg either, that jacket is the best looking one, and your ensemble is just adorable! Glad to see you are feeling better! Are you going to be linking up for the trend spin link up this week? Cobalt Blue?...
